gotta love the historic inspirations, the 18th century style of this movie is very accurate! from the soldiers uniforms to the costumes, architecture and the ships, as far as they're adapted to monster hunting ofcourse. the inevitable is based on a 18th century frigate design, but a bit bulkiers, makes sense, whaling ships were also threemasters of sturdy builds. tho ofcourse against these "sea beasts" speed is probably more important, hence a frigate and not a cat or fluyt design.

17:19 that lyric "was blind but now i see" is a metaphor, it's not about literal blindness. it's a recurring theme in the bible, that believers were once 'blind' or ignorant of the blessings and love of God before they became believers, and now they can 'see'. the 'blindness' was wandering aimlessly, no hope in life, but now being able to see is accepting the gift of salvation and having God to guide them, having faith and hope sorry but that comment there just irked me and rubbed me the wrong way

Great video. Great that you nailed some religions' belief that disability is something to be 'healed' from - even the result of sin, of Karma in a previous life. Having a disability is just a random fact, like the colour of your eyes or your hair, a fact of life, and as someone who lives with a disability, I love to see Liz there just because she's the best actor for the role, and that's all!

You made me vibrate, you say it very well, I cried many times because of the movie Wolfwalkers, I really like it, I saw it many times in English, I'm Spanish, it has a very simple script but it delves into the artistic aspects and uses several techniques that give it a 3D touch. It was a lot of effort for Cartoon Saloon, someone told me that Tomm More in an unofficial interview said that they were going to make the 2nd part of Wolfwalkers in America...Take care, greetings

Sex is not assigned it's recognized. Saying a Sunflower is assigned being a Sunflower is just asinine. Recognizing the world around you as it really is, is not phobic. It's truth. The words used in this video, "Cis" and "they" are part of an agenda to destroy the world around us. The vast majority of people are normal. Meaning, the norm as in what is most common and abundant. That said, it's important to recognize those who see themselves in a healthy and mentally stable situation as what they choose to be. From a standard of male or female, naturally masculine or feminine or something between. It's a choice. Not a fact. Support those with the care they need and be loving to them. Just remember, recognize the world for what it is and not what you want it to be and support the freedom of others. Just don't abuse that freedom for your own agendas which ultimately end up hurting people. Even those ugly, meanies the normies. Peace and Love to you.

So few people actually even acknowledge the rampant ableism is Christianity, as a bitter disabled ex-mormon this season was SUCH a breath of fresh air. There's also a reason why me (and mostly my only still mormon family member) emphasize So Much that in the canon text, Jesus *Asked For Consent* before changing anyone's state of ability!!

As someone who's on the autism spectrum, I never realized how many characters from the show were on there as well. I really like how you presented Eda's connection with the Owl Beast. When you said that the Owl was showing Eda how it became a curse, I never knew what was going on in that part of the episode, but you helped me realize how Eda started to understand the Owl, and come to an agreement with each other. When I saw that part of your video, I had the thought, "Yeah, there's a difference between getting cursed by a hex or spell, and getting a curse that was once a living creature!"

This isn’t exactly relevant to Cars 2, but the original James Bond has a semi-positive portrayal of a disabled character: Felix Leiter. He loses a hand and a foot to a shark, but he ends up being quite capable without them. He has a hook prosthetic, and after leaving the CIA, he ends up being a talented detective. He helps save Bond many times, even after the incident that caused his accident. He is key in helping foil the Goldfinger plot. It feels a little strange that a wannabe James Bond 2011 movie failed to portray disabled people respectfully while Ian Fleming (racist misogynist whose hard for British imperialism) managed to a fairly okayish job during the 1960s.

This video was a long time ago so its probably useless to say this (I also most likely don't have room to speak here but oh well) but I'll do it anyways Ive watched the entire DTNR series and loved it I liked the characters and stuff although I feel the same on Thunder and Tom's relationship. The others earned theirs well Also, on design I'd say I like them all. Although Wu and Way (please tell me if I spelt that wrong. If I did I'm sorry) could've been so much better. I feel like the gold ruins it. Its mixed horribly with the blue and red in my opinion. Spoiler Alert It gets better in my opinion. They find the hidden word has other realms (hence the 9 realms) but, unless the one episode I didn't watch (since it had Hulu subtitles and I can't stand them) covered like half the series, then there was a LOT of off screen stuff

Very interesting, thank you! Christianity doesn't imply that there is something wrong with every disabled person. John 9:1-3: As he was passing along, he saw a man who had been blind from birth. And his disciples asked him: “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, so that he was born blind?” Jesus answered: “Neither this man sinned nor his parents, but it was so that the works of God might be made manifest in his case.

Wow I didn’t realize that episode 14 is when Violet came out. I knew she would come out as nonbinary sometime during the season and was actively expecting it, but I still missed it. The conversation they had felt very… shallow to me. All I remember from that scene was violet saying basically “hey idk if I’m a boy or a girl or neither” , M’Gann saying “I’m happy you’re figuring yourself out” and Brion saying he loves her regardless. I think that’s a sign that the NB rep in the show is definitely not enough; that scene felt more like the beginning of a debate, a doorway into talking about gender and stuff, instead of a coming-out scene. At least, imo. It’s just weird to me that somehow I completely misread what the writers were trying to show us.

I think the opening scene is the most important scene to contextualise Aziraphale immediately leaping at the chance to make Crowley an angel again. Aziraphale wants to bring back the angel that smiled so brightly at the stars, that marvelled with glee at the beauty of everything. He wants to give Crowley that chance at happiness, but doesn't realise the only thing Crowley wants is him.

As a woman on the Autism Spectrum, I agree with you wholeheartedly. Sometimes, I think it would be easier if I didn't have Autism, but then I remember that my family loves me and wouldn't change the way I am. I think a lot of our issues are mainly miscommunication, and that's why I'm in therapy. So, no, people with disabilities, be they physical or otherwise, don't need to be "cured." We're not sick; we're just different. But then again, we're all different. Also, cool drawings! 😎

I think the reason Mustang got his sight back was purely bc he wouldn't be able to serve in the military (and become Führer) anymore. Hiromu Akawa probably just wanted an happy end for him and a quick and easy ending in general, since mustangs goal is to disband the military dictatorship. If Mustang stayed blind, Akawa would have needed to expand the ending, focusing on how this goal would have been achieved after Mustang was expelled from the military due to his blindness. I am not saying it is not badly handled, since in the 2003 anime Mustang lost an eye (and maybe disfigurement of his face? we only see the big eyepatch) and doesn't get his eye back, although he lost it in a fight and not bc of human transmutation As for the Havoc part; the anime puts a big focus on mustang. I guess they made the choice to emphazise Mustang's loyalty towards his team by him putting havocs needs above his own. I do believe that both of them aren't completely magically healed and have life long conditions, like Roy having sight but needing glasses or havoc still needing physical therapy and maybe still having weak legs and needing a wheelchair for assistance but neither the anime nor the manga showed a detailed aftermath of the shows ending. Not defending these choices, but those are my ideas, why the producers made those choices. After reading my post I do have to add, that Akawa could have included a picture of Riza being Führer and a blind Mustang by her side instead of showing a picture of mustang being führer. that could indeed have been an easy option. I do recommend reading fanfics about it! I'm currently reading one in which Mustang stays blind and it focuses A LOT about the struggles, his adjustment period and so on. Plus, like all Royai fics (I read) it focuses a lot on the PTSD Riza and Mustang (and other characters) have, how they suffer and learn to deal with it. The fanfic I mentioned shows an ending in which Mustang leaves the army and still tries to dismantle the military dictatorship. (Its not finished tho, so I have no idea how it will end.)

In all fairness about the Maggie and Nina setup situation, Crowley and Azi weren’t just doing it for their own amusement but to keep Heaven all the way off their backs. Also, I find it a little funny how Maggie and Nina walk all the way from their busy coffee shop, of course the chewing out part was important, just to be like “here’s something about YOUR love life tho..” It felt kind of hypocritical to be honest.

4:54 I wouldn’t call that ableism or say it’s horrific but what parent would want their child to go out fighting psychopaths and super criminals much less want their child to become disabled. Obviously you love them regardless but you’d never wish or pray as your pregnant or watching your 2 yr old run around that they’d be put at any kind of disadvantage and let’s not lie whether or not you’ve gotten over your disability and are in a healthy place you are at a disadvantage as opposed to people who aren’t

I know this video is 3 years old and nobody will probably ever see this comment, but I've recently discovered your channel and have been watching your videos randomly, and I feel the need to express my thoughts on Halo, because her character is very personal to me. When I first found out about her existence I was overjoyed because she was (or appeared to be) quite literally me: muslim, hijabi, nonbinary. The only difference was that I was a lesbian and she was bi, but I was a begger and I was NOT going to try to be a chooser. Muslim representation is already hard enough to find, let alone *queer* muslim rep. So when I saw YJ had a character like me I started to watch the show just to get to know her. I got to season 3, met Violet, and dropped the show when they made Artemis lust for her brother-in-law. I found out later about her saying she isnt muslim but I never saw the actual scene until I watched your videos. I already had problems with how they treated her being hijabi, but finding out that she's not even muslim just broke my heart. Greg Weisman defended this decision by referring to how "she literally can't be a Muslim until she personally commits to it." and while that is correct, you cannot have a hijabi character in your show and go "they're not muslim actually" and expect people to be okay with that. The hijab is inherently religious. Its like having a character wear a kippah with the star of David on it and then having them go "Im not a Jew" and eat clam or whatever. Its disrespectful, disappointing, and honestly insulting. I felt a genuine connection to Halo. Being muslim and queer is a horrible struggle because it feels like two very important parts of your identity are constantly at war, and when you get caught in the crossfire people say you're the one at fault for choosing the "wrong" side. You're ridiculed and hated by both sides and finding someone like you feels impossible to achieve. So, seeing a character that was canonically nonbinary, *and* seemingly a muslim, filled me with more joy than anything in this world. Then finding out all of the stuff the writers did with her; her proclaiming that she isn't a muslim, cheating on her boyfriend and becoming a biphobic stereotype, it crushed me. Quite literally the only representation of *all* parts of me I had ever seen, the tiniest bit of hope that there just may be a chance for me to exist peacefully without letting go of a part of what makes me myself, that there just might be people out there accepting of my kind, all destroyed in a single scene. It felt like the writers were spitting on my face for ever wanting to be represented. Greg stated that Halo's journey isn't finished yet, and said to wait until they get there, but I honestly have no faith in them. Like I said, I gave up on this show a long time ago. Young Justice has been a mess from the start but after season 2 it became clear they were more interested in throwing in as many characters as they can rather than fleshing out and developing the ones they already have. Even if, by some miracle from Allah, the show managed to not get cancelled long enough to give Halo her arc, I doubt it would be enough to redeem its past mistakes. If anyone's seeing this comment, thanks for reading. This ended up way longer than I thought it would.

I loved the queerness of season two, and the disability rep too. About the difference of view between Aziraphale and Crowley, someone did an excellent job of explaining it (I don't remember who or where I read it unfortunately) : Aziraphale thinks the system is corrupted and must be healed ; Crowley thinks the system works as it was intented to and must be destroyed.

Remember when Crowley was in heaven with Muriel looking into what happened to Gabriel? When Saraqael gets there, she not only is not hostile towards Crowley (she does reprimand Muriel, though, if I'm not mistaken) when she talks about having met him and worked with him before he fell, but she encourages Crowley to watch Gabriel's trial and understand what was going on. Also, I recently noticed the paralel between both finales (both Aziraphale and Gabriel commit "treason" by not cooperating with Armaggedon. Aziraphale gets kidnapped and sentenced to death while Gabriel is given a trial. Not a really fair one, that's true, but it was still a trial)

As someone who is both queer and disabled, I found Good Omens 2 not only incredibly entertaining but also almost... healing. I grew up in a Christian cult that practiced faith healing and conversion therapy (I escaped after 25 years). Seeing an angelic being share my disability when church reassured me my whole life that I would feel my death was a blessing when I got to heaven, because my imperfect body would be stripped away and would no longer be a "problem" like it was on earth. And seeing a Sapphic couple actively being rooted for, and non-binary pronouns respected by divine beings all at the same time... I nearly cried multiple times watching Good Omens 2. Fuck people who say representation doesn't matter.

When I learned of the book version of "Garett" (Lucius in this case), I found a PDF copy somewhere online to read it. I didn't read the whole thing. I skipped *a lot* just to get to his character's introduction. He's not even in the book for very long. And yeah, my reaction to his...choice... was the same. I was mortified, and it made no sense anyway. It's a trilogy of books, and they're pretty horribly written.

There is more subtle but visible disability in season 2. Take a closer look at the angels that are with Gabriel and Michael at the end of episode 2. I remember one of the having Down syndrome and one is missing an arm.
